Dream On . . .

Yes, here in Manitoba we are in the cold, snowy grip of Olde Man Winter already and my dreams turn to owning a lovely cabin in the woods.

Maybe with a lovely fire crackling in a beautfiul stone fireplace . . . watching the sun sinking low . . . curled up on the sofa . . .

. . . dreaming of Spring!

Yes, there has been some sewing going on here in the past couple of months and this design is now ready to share with everyone over at the Moda Bakeshop.  I hope you get a chance to head on over and have a look at this pattern - even if you didn't want to tackle the whole quilt (and it's not difficult!), you could make just one block and make it into an extra happy, cheerful pillow top. . . .
or . . .

. . . make two blocks and make it into a small tablerunner.  Of course you could make four or more blocks to make the tablerunner the right size for your table . . . it just so happens that I have a nice small area that needed a short tablerunner and I just happened to make two of them!

Wonder what I should do with the second one?  If you would like to get your name in to win the second tablerunner just leave me a comment before midnight, Friday, December 10th and I'll announce the winner on December 11th.

If you want to make your own you can follow the directions posted over at the Moda Bakeshop or you can decide to skip some of the applique and use rick rack for the flower stems and skip all those buttons ( I LOVE buttons!!!) and make yo-yo's in whatever size you want.

I also LOVE yo-yos so it was lots of fun to make the two versions.

So click on the comment button and let me know what you're dreamin' of - is it something for Christmas?  Looking forward to Spring like me?  Or dreaming of that cabin in the woods . . . which by the way is not mine . . . that's why I'm dreaming - right?

Have a great week and I'll be back on Saturday!

I love your beautiful basket quilt. I'm really happy that you showed the tablerunner using the applique pattern. I am more than a bit intimidated by the thought of making the quilt, but I think I can summond up the courage to make 2 blocks for a runner. Who knows, maybe once I finish 2 blocks, I will be confident enough to continue on and make the quilt.

I've never been crazy about basket quilts, but yours is so cute I have to try it! That fabric line is perfect for it. Thanks for a fun pattern!

Your basket quilt and tablerunner are gorgeous. I have never tried applique, but I do have some Dream On just screaming at me now to try your tablerunner project. I am dreaming about my boys coming home from college for the Christmas holiday. It will be so nice to have a full house again.

Hi Neighbor!

Greetings from Northern Saskatchewan CANADA! I am dreaming about spring too - I am tired of big winter coats. I love your basket quilt and can hardly wait to try it! I hope to win your beautiful prize. I will put it in my mom's stocking. My mom and I have a fun way of doing stocking stuffers. The only thing that we use is stuff we got "free" over the year! Or stuff we win works good too! We have fun with the thought that goes into it! We work on it all year - I have some amazing things for her this year! This would be the icing on the cake!

Merry Christmas to all fellow quilters!

Love the Dream On fabric line and have a FQ bundle on hold at the quilt shop. I guess I'm going to have to go and get it. Love your quilt.....and I have a 'basket challenge quilt due in January. This would be perfect...just printed the pattern and now I have to get my mind and body in motion!!! I'm going through the same slump as you.....no motivation, no zest, no get-up-and-go....If I could just shake this nasty cold there may be a chance to still get a few gifties done before DEC 25.....it is fast approaching and I'm beginning to freak!!!!!!!!!! Yes I'm dreaming of Spring! It is nasty cold here in Michigan. Happy sewing and thanks for the chance to win the table winner. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It is darling!!!

Your quilt took my breath away! I love it! While I am going to print the pattern from Moda Bake Shop, I am not sure if I will have a chance to sew one up, as my "TO DO" quilt list is getting a little too long and I need to hunker down and get some sewing done. It's snowy here too in the Inland Northwest, so I can either shovel snow or sew. Hummmm, that's an easy one! Thanks for your post. I've been a silent follower for a long time, but now I have broken my silence! I'd love to win your tablerunner to inspire me and look forward to spring!

I'm in the Phoenix, AZ area when I got on Moda Bake Shop and saw your quilt, I though WOW what a beauty. Also, the tablerunner is a real winner and so cute with the yoyo's. I must print this out and put it on my list of things to make. Your selection of fabric is perfect for the quilt. Have forwarded your quilt to all of my quilt buddies so they won't miss it.

My house looks very similar to yours right now. However, no fire. Urg. So, I am wishing for the next season. And a ruffle foot for my Viking.

I'm dreaming of having my dining room finished. We started re-doing it over a month ago, and then my husband was in a bad car accident. I'm thankful that he's alive, and I'm cherishing every moment with him these days.

I just returned to your site after printing your Dream On pattern from the Moda Bakeshop. What a beautiful quilt! The design and fabric line compliment each other so well. This quilt is definitely going on my to do list. Right now I am dreaming of Christmas in Wawanesa with my daughter and her family. We always have such a good time sliding at the park/pool hill. You live in a wonderful town. FYI my husband and I live in a cabin, aka home, by the lake. It is so peaceful and quiet here though very cold. I love all the seasons as viewed out my front window. Your quilt and table runner are beautiful...I just love the fresh summery colours. I'm not sure whether I prefer the yoyos of the applique flowers (which is pretty impressive as I tend not to be a yoyo fan, but they look perfect here :D)

One so formal, one so casual but still elegant. Thank you for sharing. The instructions are well written and illustrated beautifully. Love them!
