The "PPP Giveaway" Winner Is . . .

My little Walmart happy guy (current favorite cat toy) helped with the drawing. There were so many entries that there was hardly room in the draw bucket for him to sit! I know these are NOT Anna Marie Horner's or Heather Bailey's designs . . . and I really didn't expect to receive a thousand replies . . . but if even half the lurkers out there left a comment we would have had a great contest!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and especially everyone who left me a comment - I love reading the comments!

Maybe the 100th post thing is overrated . . . seven more to go and then I will reevaluate life in general. It has been a year now since the first post went into cyberspace and sometimes it is a chore to find something to post about . . . other times there seems to be lots of things to post. The other question one must ask is whether I do this for me or for the wonderful people that drop by . . . if it is for me, is it what I want . . . or is the time spent doing this, actually time away from doing what I really want to do?
Let me know why you blog . . . I would like to hear other people's insights. If you don't blog . . . let me know why you like checking out other people's blogs - either way I'm sure bloggers and lurkers alike would like to hear the others' reasons.
'til next time,
M.

Marlene,
Just found your blog, and have enjoyed reading this post and looking at your website with your patterns. Very nice patterns and your blog is also very attractive. I started blogging about 6 months ago, and only started it because we were expecting our first grand child and I thought it would be a great way to keep track of pictures, etc. Little did I know then how much I would enjoy blogging. I have way too many blogs and someday will try to put them all together. I just like learning and experimenting with them right now.

Right now, I feel as if I am spending WAY too much time with them, and not getting other things done, like sitting at my sewing machine and actually making quilts!
But I think it is a NEW toy I am playing with and may have to cut back on my play time.
I am not so familiar with the blogging terms, like lurking. Does that mean, not leaving a comment, or not having a blog?
Blogging for me is a form is self expression. I look at a lot of blogs, and sometimes do not leave a comment, but many times it is because I have wandered off to do something, and had to turn the computer off..or just my old brain got side tracked.
Anyway...will come back to visit!
Have a Great Day!
Brenda

I DON't blog mainly because I am afraid of revealing too much of myself to people I do not know. It's not that I have anything to hide but I have concerns about identify theft. I am, however, an avid blog reader. I only read quilting/sewing blogs and skip those that complain about their work or going on about how busy their work is. To be very frank, I really don't care, as I have my own work issues. These blogs also depress me. I'm also not interested in blogs about children but love blogs about cats (go figure).
A blog entry must also have pictures or else I'll just pass on it. And finally, I eventually give up reading a blog if it continually promotes something such as its Etsy shop. Please don't judge me as I have given you my honest answer. Others will see the world of blogging completely different from me.

Hi Marlene,
I blog because I was inspired by seeing all the lovely quilted creations, tutorials, and such, and reading what people in other parts of the world experience in their lives, that I thought, "I could share what I do, have, live with, to the world too!"
I was doing really well through May and June, but in looking through my July postings, I realize that my photos and my creativity has dwindled, and that saddens me. Time to get things moving on a more positive note again!!!

THANK YOU!!! Goody goody goody, this is the first giveaway I've ever won! (I'll email in a sec)

As for blogging, I can really understand how you feel. I started because I wanted to have some sort of record for the establishing of my little business, and to also let my family and friends that I'm still alive.

I love to read other peoples blogs, but it's easy to spend way too much time with them. I'm certainly addicted - there's so much creative talent out there though, I consider it to be a healthy addiction!

Don't go leaving blogland just yet. Even if you only post once a week that's fine - quality rather than quantity if you will!

Cheers, Jen :o)
